JCI A Week Down 0.53 Percent, Transaction Volume Increases By 38 Percent

JAKARTA The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) recorded a decline of 0.53 percent during the short trading week, which took place from Monday, May 26 to Wednesday, May 28, 2025. JCI closed at the level of 7,175,819, down from the position of 7,214,163 in the previous week.

Daily Executive of the Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Valentina Simon, revealed that market movements for a week showed varying dynamics.

"This week, the JCI weakened 0.53 percent. However, the average transaction volume actually experienced a significant increase of 38.28 percent, from 22.78 billion shares to 31.49 billion shares," said Valentina in her statement, Sunday, June 1.

Not only volume, the average daily transaction value also increased by 15.52 percent to Rp 16.78 trillion, compared to Rp 14.52 trillion in the previous week.

However, the frequency of daily transactions decreased slightly by 3.60 percent, from 1.36 million times to 1.31 million transactions.

In terms of market capitalization, the stock exchange recorded a decline of 1.12 percent. Total market capitalization fell to IDR 12,420 trillion from the previous IDR 12,561 trillion.

Meanwhile, foreign investors were recorded to have made net buys of IDR 1.367 trillion on Wednesday, May 28. However, cumulatively throughout 2025, foreign investors still recorded net sell of IDR 45.187 trillion.
