Russian Transportation Prosecutor's Office Investigate Incident Of Collapse Of Train Graveyarding Bridge Kills 7 Passengers

JAKARTA - The Moscow Interregional Transportation Prosecutor's Office immediately dispatched a team to conduct an investigation regarding the incident of a collapsed bridge in the Bryansk area, Russia, where 7 train graves were killed.

Tass in its report Sunday, June 1, said investigators from the Moscow Interregional Transportation Prosecutor's Office had been at the crash site in Vygonicsky District, Bryansk.

The central post to coordinate the response to this incident has also been established at the Russian Transportation Ministry Situation Center with the full coordination of the Russian Railway Agency and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The accident occurred at 10.50 pm Moscow time on May 31. The Department of Inter-West Affairs for Transportation from the Russian Investigative Committee receiving reports related to this incident deployed a team to the location.

The collapse of the bridge caused passenger train No. 86 Klimov-Moscow routes fell on the single lane of the Pilshino-Vygonic section.

At least one locomotive and two carriages of train passengers were buried in the collapsed bridge.

The Governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said, based on the latest data, seven people were killed and 33 people injured in the accident.

As many as 30 people who were injured have been hospitalized. Meanwhile, two other injured victims, including a child, are in serious condition.

Meanwhile, the train passengers who survived quoted the Russian Railways, were evacuated to a temporary accommodation center at Vygonic Station.

A relief train on the Bryansk-Moscow route has been prepared for passengers to their respective destinations.
