Mexico Confirms To Host The 2031 Women's World Cup With The United States
JAKARTA - The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) confirmed that Mexico will host the 2031 Women's World Cup with the United States.
FMF first announced the news as an important point in a press release after the meeting of owners of the MX League on Monday, May 26, 2025.
FIFA announced earlier this year that the United States is proposing its only legitimate offer to host the 2031 Women's World Cup. The tournament will be expanded to 48 teams for the first time.
However, a FMF press release said Mexico was appointed to host the 2031 World Cup with the United States and other Concacaf countries, with the same number of matches.
Meanwhile, the United States Football Federation (US Soccer) did not confirm Mexico's role when contacted by ESPN for comment.
An FMF spokesman said it was too early to determine how many matches would be held in each country.

Mexico was originally part of a joint bid with the United States to host the 2027 Women's World Cup.
However, the offer was withdrawn before the final vote to focus on the 2031 event, which FIFA President Gianni Infantino has stated to expand.
Brazil then won the right to host the 2027 World Cup.
US Soccer president JT Batson said he and the federation welcomed the expansion of the 2031 Women's World Cup. She also talked about the event in the regional aspect.
"We really view 2031 as not only an opportunity to develop games at all levels, but also use it as an opportunity to develop games in the region and globally," Batson said.
The US Soccer has opened up about the potential to host the 2031 World Cup. The federation announced news of its candidacy in April 2025 as an opportunity to co-host, in collaboration with Concacaf partners.
"When FIFA completes the number of teams participating in the tournament, we will strengthen our partnership structure with other Concacaf countries," US Soccer said in a statement in April 2025.
Apart from that, the United States will host the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada.
Eleven of the 16 host cities in 2026 are in the United States. The final match will be played at the MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
