Manchester City Officials Disagree With The Problem Of Rising Ticket Prices

JAKARTA - Manchester City Chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, said he disagreed with the issue surrounding the increase in ticket prices - which resulted in supporters' protests - occurring this season.

In April 2025, The Citizens announced that they would freeze ticket prices for the 2025/2026 season following increased unrest among supporters and protests outside the Etihad Stadium.

During Manchester City's match against Leicester on April 2, 2025, supporters remained inside the stadium for the first nine minutes of the Premier League match in protest against the club's new partnership with third-party ticket sales platforms.

"Yes, I think this is a very important question. This is a relationship built on the basis of trust between supporters and the club. Trust comes from two directions."

"I think this ticket issue is undoubtedly something I don't agree with in this way," Al Mubarak said in an internal club media interview.

Al Mubarak implicitly questioned the relationship between supporters and the club. He considered that the trust between supporters and the club became the foundation of The Citizens' sustainability.

"I think the management team is working closely with City Matters (supporter groups), dealing with and understanding these issues."

"What I believe in and I hope this message is conveyed out loud and clear is that the trust relationship between supporters and the club is the foundation of the success and sustainability of this club," said Al Mubarak.

Therefore, in order to build trust between supporters and the club, Manchester City management still keeps ticket prices next season the same.
