Martin Scorsese And Leonardo DiCaprio Raise Funds Through A Main Film Competition
JAKARTA - Director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio challenged the public to be able to play in a Scorsese film through a program called All In Challenge. However, there is one condition given by both of them, namely making a donation for an emergency food campaign. This was done as their way of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic or the corona virus.
The production process for a film entitled Killers of the Flower Moon had to be stopped due to the pandemic, so currently Scorsese is doing something to help the affected communities. Then, the director of The Irishman with Leonardo DiCaprio initiated the All In Challenge, where both of them gave the opportunity to those who wanted to enter the production process of Killers of the Flower Moon to donate.
Through his Instagram account, DiCaprio wrote; "We founded #AmericasFoodFund to help ensure every family in need has access to food in this time of crisis."
For those who donate, the opportunity to appear in Killers of the Flower Moon is even greater. In addition, attending film premieres and meeting the cast is part of the other benefits that Scorsese and DiCaprio provide.
The cast of the movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood recently inaugurated America's Food Fun which focuses on the lunch program for middle-low families, the elderly, and those who are laid off. Together with Apple and the Ford Foundation, DiCaprio stated that all donations received would be distributed 100 percent to those in need.
This is not the first time DiCaprio has taken action on the environment. Last year, this 45-year-old man wrote about his protest against the Bantargebang garbage dump, Bekasi because it could damage the ecosystem. He also invited the community to sign a petition to protect the Leuser Ecosystem (KEL), which is located in the two northernmost provinces of Sumatra (Aceh and North Sumatra).
Meanwhile, Killers of the Flower Moon is the latest film by Martin Scorsese which collaborates with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro as the main characters. This story is quoted from a novel of the same name by David Grann which tells the true story of a crime that occurred in Oklahoma. This film is planned to be released next year.
