500 Coconut Fruit Thief Gang In Lampung Arrested
The police arrested three specialists in coconut thieves in Kawat Ngangkang Hamlet, Pardasuka Village, Katibung District, South Lampung Regency.
South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Yusriandi Yusrin said the three perpetrators were MH (39), RY (30), and MH (27).
"The Criminal Investigation Team of the Katibung Police managed to catch three perpetrators of coconut thieves until one car was full or approximately 500 coconut grains," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 31.
According to him, the perpetrators were desperate to carry out their actions because the price of coconut was relatively high, thus making the perpetrators tempted to steal the fruit in Suhadan's garden.
Unmitigated, he said, the perpetrators carried out their actions using an upMithsubishi L300 pickup truck to carry the stolen goods.
"This arrest originated from the victim's report and the results of an intensive investigation by our members in the field. The three suspects were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weights with a threat of up to seven years in prison," he explained.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a material loss which was estimated at around Rp. 3 million. Furthermore, the victim reported the incident to the Katibung Police Headquarters of the South Lampung Police.
"The evidence that was successfully secured from the perpetrators was a black Mitsubishi L300 pickup truck with police number BE 8231 EY on behalf of Dewo, as many as 500 stolen coconuts, a machete, and a flashlight," said the Police Chief.
