DSLNG's Commitment To Fulfill Domestic Gas Appreciated By Experts From The Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources
JAKARTA - Expert Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Satya Hungga Yudha Widya Putra appreciated the commitment of the Donggi refinery LNG (DSLNG) in Luwuk, Banggai, Central Sulawesi, to meet domestic gas needs.
"Last year, one DSLNG cargo was allocated to PGN. This year, five cargoes will be allocated to domestic. We appreciate the increase from one to five cargoes in 2025 and this shows DSLNG's commitment to meet national energy needs," he said, quoting Antara.
Hungga also hopes that DSLNG will continue to be committed to meeting domestic gas needs at prices, which of course are agreed upon with domestic buyers.
On Tuesday (27/5), the Expert Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for Commercialization and Transportation of Oil and Gas, Hagga Yudha and his team visited the DSLNG Refinery in Luwuk, Banggai, Central Sulawesi.
The visit coincided with the ten years of the operation of the fourth LNG refinery in Indonesia, as well as an important forum to discuss strategies to meet national energy needs.
Through the visit, Hangga wanted to ensure and see the commitment and role of DSLNG in producing a stable and safe energy supply for national energy security.
DSLNG President Director Yuichi Sakaguchi, who welcomed Hangga and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources team, emphasized that his party is committed to allocating five cargoes for domestic this year and hopes to contribute more cargo to Indonesia.
According to him, this year is the tenth year since DSLNG started LNG production.
"So far, our refinery has generated energy with high standards and provided a safe and stable energy supply in Indonesia," said Sakaguchi.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead by emphasizing the importance of direction from the ministry.
"The opportunity to have direct discussions with representatives of ministries regarding the operation of this energy refinery is very rare and valuable," said Sakaguchi.
Hingga gave his appreciation to DSLNG for its 10th year of production achievement.
"We understand that DSLNG, with Mitsubishi, Kogas, Pertamina, and Medco shareholders, received gas from Griffith-Toili and Matindok Fields. Since 2015, DSLNG has also been committed to fulfilling its export demand," he said.

On that occasion, Hangga also said that the direct request from President Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia was to prioritize meeting domestic energy needs.
"The president targets economic growth to be 8 percent by 2029, which will have an impact on increasing energy demand. Currently, we are still importing 1 million barrels of oil per day out of a total consumption of 1.6 million barrels per day, because our production is only 600 thousand barrels per day," he explained.
However, unlike oil, Indonesia still has a gas surplus.
"Our gas production is around 6,500 MMSCFD, while consumption is 4,500 MMSCFD. That is, we have a surplus of 2,000 MMSCFD, and that is why we are still selling LNG abroad. However, for LPG, we import 70 percent," he added.
Hagga added that the role of gas is the cleanest form of fossil fuels and is an important part of Indonesia's energy transition roadmap which is still very dependent on coal.
