The Perpetrators Of The Battered Robbery Were Beaten By Duren Sawit Residents After Stealing A Honda Scoopy Motorbike

JAKARTA - A motorcycle theft perpetrator named Abdullah alias A (37) was arrested by residents while pushing a stolen Honda Scoopy motorbike whose engine never started on Jalan Swadaya Raya, RT 10/011, Duren Sawit Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta.

Abdullah had bad luck after he exchanged the stolen motorbike with the motorbike he was driving in action.

The reason was, Abdullah previously rode a motorbike while his colleague named Asep (DPO) brought a stolen motorbike. However, because Abdullah could not 'set' the motorbike with its feet, he also exchanged motorbikes with Asep.

But unfortunately, when they had exchanged positions, the perpetrator's attempt to take away the victim's motorbike was actually suspected by other residents who recognized the victim's motorbike. Until finally one of the perpetrators named Abdullah was caught and arrested by the masses.

Duren Sawit Police Chief, AKP Sutikno explained, the incident began when the suspect with the initials A from Bangkalan, Madura and AS (DPO) launched a motorcycle theft at a rented house with the initials T.

The two perpetrators came on a motorbike. Suspect A served as a jockey, while AS (the main perpetrator) was riding behind a motorbike.

"The two perpetrators departed from Klender Market. The US perpetrators (DPO) have prepared the L key to be used to steal motorbikes," said AKP Sutikno when confirmed, Friday, May 30.

Furthermore, the US directed the theft to Swadaya Street, Duren Sawit. After approaching the crime scene, the US perpetrator then entered the residential alley. Meanwhile, perpetrator A waited at the end of the alley while sitting on a motorbike.

After successfully stealing the victim's motorbike, then the US perpetrator pushed the stolen motorbike to the end of the alley. The US also ordered perpetrator A to 'snatched' the stolen motorbike using his leg, but A could not until finally the US 'set' the stolen motorbike.

"After approximately 50 m from the crime scene, residents saw that in front of their house there were 2 perpetrators holding the victim's motorbike," he said.

Apparently, residents recognized the victim's motorbike. Residents contacted the victim and finally realized that the two perpetrators were a gang of motorbike thieves.

The two perpetrators were shouted at 'thief' by residents until finally they were chased. Residents managed to surround and arrest one perpetrator with the initials A, while the other perpetrator with the initials AS managed to escape from the crowd.

Because of anger at A's actions, residents then ganged up on the perpetrators until they were battered.

Luckily, the residents' tantrums were successfully dispersed by members of the Duren Sawit Police. The perpetrators were also arrested from the increasingly uncontrollable tantrums of the masses.

For this incident, perpetrator A and evidence were brought to the Duren Sawit Police for further investigation. The victim reported the incident to the Duren Sawit Police.
