Acting Secretary Of Provincial Affairs Encourages Protection For Non-ASN Workers Scope The North Kalimantan Provincial Government

TARAKAN Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) represented by Acting Secretary. Provincial Secretary (Sekprov) of Kaltara, Bustan opened a monitoring and evaluation meeting (monev) on compliance with the participation of Non-State Civil Apparatus Social Security (ASN) in Kaltara Province.

Also attending this forum were Kajati Kaltara, Amiek Mulandari and the Head of the Regional Office of Kalimantan BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Erfan Kurniawan.

"We gathered to monitor and evaluate compliance with non-ASN employment social security participation and construction service programs in North Kalimantan province," said Bustan in his remarks at the Paradise Hotel, Wednesday, May 28, evening.

Bustan said this activity was a form of effort to provide optimality for justice and welfare, especially non-ASN workers under the auspices of the Kaltara Provincial Government.

"Everyone has the right to a decent life and social security to improve his dignity and develop himself as a whole," he stressed.

"As a dignified human being, we must create a just, prosperous society, in accordance with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia," added Bustan.

Bustan also emphasized that the Employment Social Security (Jamsostek) program is one of the national strategic programs as mandated by Law Number 59 of 2024 concerning the National Long-Term Development Plan for 2025 2045, with a target Jamsostek membership coverage of 99.5 percent in 2045.

"Kaltara currently there is still the potential for workers who have not been registered with Jamsostek, in the wage recipient sector or 141,756 people who work, and in the informal sector as many as 132,728 people have not received BPJS Ketenagakerjaan protection," he explained.

Based on this potential, it is hoped that all stakeholders can increase compliance with employment social security in Kaltara.

In supporting the optimization of Jamsostek, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government has issued Regional Regulation Number 11 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of the Jamsostek Program, as well as the Decree of the Governor of Kaltara Number 100.3.1/294.2025 concerning the Jamsostek Compliance Forum of Kaltara Province.

Bustan said that this forum was led directly by the Head of the Kaltara High Prosecutor's Office to supervise and ensure compliance with the implementation of employment social security in Kaltara.

"I hope that the results of this evaluation can be taken into consideration for all of us in increasing the quality of public services and providing better protection for workers in North Kalimantan who are advanced, prosperous and sustainable," he concluded. (ADV)
