The Deputy Minister Of Home Affairs Supports The Head Of The Criminal Region Of The Disturbing Ormas

PADANG - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto fully supports the steps of regional heads to criminalize community organizations (ormas) that are troubling the community.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs supports the firm attitude of regional heads towards mass organizations that are out of bounds. Just process them because they can be put into criminal offenses," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto in Padang City, West Sumatra Province, Thursday.

According to Bima, if there is sufficient evidence and has a strong legal basis, the management or mass organizations themselves can be punished. In fact, he also supports the dissolution if the actions of the mass organizations have disturbed public order or threaten the safety of the community.

"So for example, it can be submitted for disbandment. But first look at the membership, if the association (law entity) is at the Ministry of Law," said the former Mayor of Bogor.

If the mass organization is only limited to being registered, the next process will be at the Ministry of Home Affairs. In essence, the government already has firm steps towards disturbing mass organizations.

For example, the case of mass organizations controlling land belonging to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in South Tangerang. The Ministry of Home Affairs fully supports the attitude of regional heads to take firm steps in this case.

"Because their actions (ormas) are not only disturbing, but also affecting investment and economic growth," he said.

On that occasion, Bima Arya explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs only has the authority to cancel the registration status of mass organizations. Meanwhile, the disbandment of mass organizations is entirely within the authority of the Ministry of Law.

"So far, we have not received reports from these registered mass organizations, but if anyone is registered as a legal entity or association at the Ministry of Law, it could be processed," he explained.
