JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) and related agencies have implemented Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) for a week to reduce the spread of the corona virus or COVID-19. Various actions against stubborn people are claimed to be able to reduce community mobility.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that in implementing the PSBB, there was a significant decrease in the use of public transportation.

For example, TransJakarta, before the implementation of the PSBB, the number of users was 950 thousand to 1 million people per day. However, since the implementation of the PSBB, the number of users has drastically decreased to 91 thousand passengers.

"Since April 1, there are only 103 thousand left. Last day there were only 91 thousand passengers. This means that 9 percent of the normal TransJakarta passengers are left," Anies said in a virtual meeting with the DPR RI Covid-19 Team, Thursday, April 16.

The decrease in the number of passengers also occurred in the MRT and LRT public transportation modes. The number of MRT users has decreased by almost 91 percent from normal days, reaching 85 thousand-100 thousand passengers per day.

Meanwhile, for LRT it has decreased much because it only leaves around 200 users per day.

"Now the average MRT passenger is only 5,000. So again, only 5 percent of passengers are left," said Anies.

Furthermore, the community has also begun to become aware of this PSBB policy and apply it when driving, either two or four wheels. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said, within three days of prosecution for PSBB policy violators, the number decreased every day.

On the first day of prosecution or April 13, the number of violators reached 3,474 motorists. Then, it decreased on the second day about 40 percent from the first day or by the number of 2,090 violators. On the third day it decreased to 1,337 offenders. Most of these offenders do not wear masks when driving.

"This means that public awareness has started to increase with the dangers of COVID-19 and the implementation of PSBB rules. So that the number of violators continues to decrease so that it can break the chain of distribution," said Yusri.

Actions related to the implementation of the PSBB also occurred in the office sector. During the implementation of this regulation, around 23 companies or workplaces were temporarily closed by the DKI Provincial Government.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency Andri Yansyah said the 23 companies were caught still operating when the supervisory team conducted an inspection for three days, April 14-16. Companies that violate this are sanctioned with temporary closures until the COVID-19 pandemic passes.

"The closure is temporary in nature, it is related to the PSBB. After that it is opened again," said Andri.

In addition, 126 companies were warned for not implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, these 126 companies are still able to operate because they fall into the categories that have been granted permission from the Ministry of Industry, namely companies in the fields of health, foodstuffs, energy, communication and information technology, finance, logistics, hospitality, construction, strategic industries, basic services, public utilities. , and industries designated as national vital objects and certain objects, as well as daily necessities.

"We will warn against companies that do not implement health protocols for the prevention of COVID-19," said Andri.

Public policy analysis Trubus Rahadiansyah said that the implementation of the PSBB for a week did not lead to good signs in preventing the spread of COVID-19. This is because the number of positive patients with COVID-19 continues to grow every day. He advised the government to take further steps in order to break the chain of spreading the virus.

"The real context is ineffective and there must be further steps," said Trubus.

Trubus assessed that the PSBB was ineffective because there were still many people who were active around their houses. In addition, he said, many areas had closed road access, but still allowed residents to gather and crowd among neighbors. For him, this still has the potential for the spread of COVID-19 to continue.
