Governor Zainal Attends Strategic Coordination Meeting For Operation Of Sebatik PLBN
SEBALIK Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Zainal A. Paliwang attended the Sebatik Cross-Border Post (PLBN) Coordination Meeting (Rakor), Tuesday (28/5/2025).
The coordination meeting, which was held in the Sebatik PLBN Hall, Nunukan Regency, was chaired directly by Plt. Deputy I of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Hilman Hadi attended by representatives of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP), Forkopimda Kaltara and Nunukan, regional officials, and the ranks of related agencies.
Governor Zainal revealed that PLBN Sebatik is not just a cross-border gate, but also a symbol of Indonesia's sovereignty in front of neighboring countries. Therefore, the operation of the Sebatik PLBN is a national priority program.
"The North Kalimantan Provincial Government is committed to supporting the acceleration of the operation of the Sebatik PLBN in order to realize excellent public services, improve the welfare of border communities, and strengthen the presence of countries in the outermost regions," said Zainal.
Governor Zainal also emphasized the importance of synergy between the central and regional governments in border development.
"This border area is not only the face of state sovereignty, but must also be the center of competitive economic growth," said the governor.

Governor Zainal said the coordination meeting also discussed various concrete strategies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of services at PLBN, support the economic activities of border communities, and ensure strategic regional security.
"I express my appreciation to all parties who have worked hard in preparing for the operation of PLBN Sebatik, both in terms of infrastructure, institutions, and cross-border services," he said.
This visit aims to ensure the readiness of existing infrastructure, services, and support systems so that they can operate optimally in supporting cross-border activities, strengthening connectivity between countries, and increasing the security of border areas.
This coordination meeting is expected to produce strategic decisions that are implementive and oriented towards the interests of the community, so that the Sebatik PLBN can become a tangible manifestation of the presence of the state in border areas.

After the Coordination Meeting, the Governor of Kaltara together with Plt. Deputy I KSP, representatives of BNPP, and related ranks conducted direct visits to various PLBN Sebatik facilities.(ADV)
