Premiere Of Michael Jackson's Biopic Film Postponed Until 2027

JAKARTA - Michael Jackson's biopic with the title Michael is scheduled to premiere in the United States on October 3. However, the plan seems to have to be pushed back for the next two years.

According to Deadline's report, Lionsgate Studio has postponed the schedule for the release of the biopic until 2027, but no exact date has yet been stated.

"In connection with our Michael Jackson biographical film, we are delighted by the amazing three-and-a-half-hour recording of producer Graham King and director Antoine Fuqua, and we will announce a definite strategy and release time in the next few weeks," said Jon Felthimer, CEO of Lionsgate.

"I want to note that it is likely that we will remove Michael from the fiscal year which will affect the 2026 fiscal year's financial results but will strengthen the already strong list of fiscal year 2027," he continued.

Not only delaying the premiere date, Lionsgate is also reportedly considering releasing biopic Michael Jackson into two parts.

"In the end, when you look at the music library, when you look at what Michael Jackson can give in terms of music and his contribution to art, whether it can be included in a film comfortably or not is a question we really ask," said Lionsgate film chief Adam Fogelson.

"We will be ready to answer more specifically in the coming weeks," he added.

biopic Michael Jackson has faced several speculations of division, the first to emerge surprised because no footage has been shown from the film during CinemaCon last April.

Earlier in January, it was reported that the production of the film had major problems, and was forced to re-record the entire third half, which it said described allegations of sexual harassment that the singer's heirs forbade to dramatize with the nickname King of Pop.
