According to Puan, this statue is not only an art work but also a symbol of Soekarno's idea of the importance of building kinship between nations.

Puan arrived in Japan, Wednesday, May 28 morning, to attend the inauguration of the Bung Karno statue by Kiyomiya Purwanto Mahisa Ayu Ramadhana. Prior to the inauguration, Puan first held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Japanese Parliament, Nukaga Fukushiro, who was invited to participate in inaugurating the Soekarno statue.

Puan was also accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, Heri Akhmadi and the ranks of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo since arriving at Haneda Airport. The statue that Puan inaugurated was placed in the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. One is a large body statue, and the other is a statue of a half-body of Sukarno which is placed in the embassy lobby.

The inauguration of the Soekarno statue was marked by simultaneous cutting of the ribbon by Puan, Chair of the Japanese Parliament, Nukaga Fukushiro, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Heri Akhmadi.

"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, the statue of Ir. Soekarno at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Japan, I inaugurate it," said Puan in a written statement, Wednesday, May 28.

Puan admitted that she was honored to be able to directly inaugurate the Bung Karno statue which was placed at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo.

"First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to Kiyomiya Purwanto Mahisa Ayu Ramadhana, who gave birth to the art of Ir. Soekarno," said Puan in her speech.

Puan assessed that the laying of the Soekarno statue was not only a work of art at the Indonesian Embassy office, but also a symbol of Bung Karno's idea in a friendly country about the importance of building the familyhood of the nations as a path to peace and progress.

"For Bung Karno, building the family of nations such as between Indonesia and Japan is to build inter-culture, human-human relations, and between progress that are the tasks of all of us," said Puan.

"Especially the Indonesian Embassy as a representative of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia in friendly countries," he continued

Puan said that Bung Karno's spirit was the spirit of independence, dignity, and equal cooperation. "That spirit is also what we must continue to care for in the relations between Indonesia and Japan in the future," said Puan.

"I believe this statue will serve as a reminder that from the past we have learned, in today we are building, and for the future we are partnering," added the grandson of Bung Karno.

Puan also thanked all those who had realized this Soekarno statue. He hopes that the Soekarno statue, which is located at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, will become a symbol of the spirit and friendship of Indonesian-Japanese youth.

"I hope that this statue will not only be a marker of history, but also an encouragement for the younger generation of the two countries to continue to build friendship and collaboration," said Puan.

The newly inaugurated statue of Soekarno is the work of Kiyomiya Purwanto Mahisa Ayu Ramadhana. The statue is a fine art that represents a symbol of the power of ideas, the courage to dream big, and the determination to fight for independence.

The statue, which was erected on the courtyard of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, is seen as a marker of a close historical relationship between Indonesia and Japan.

"As we all know, Ir Soekarno has had close relations with the Japanese people, both historically and culturally. So the presence of this statue is a form of respect for this history and a bridge of friendship between the two countries," explained the Indonesian Embassy Ambassador to Japan, Heri Ahmadi.
