Apple Prevents Fraud Transactions Of Up To IDR 146.5 Trillion Thanks To The App Store
JAKARTA Apple is accused of monopolizing in various countries because of its App Store practice. The company received criticism because of its payment method which is claimed to burden developers.
With so many criticisms regarding App Store practices, Apple finally defended itself. In a press release recently released, the company stated that their App Store regulations were made to protect users from various crimes.
In fact, Apple manages to protect users from fraudulent transactions every year thanks to the payment system in its app store. Not only in the US, this fraud transaction prevention has occurred globally in the last five years.
"App Store has protected users by preventing fraud transactions worth more than US$9 billion (Rp146.5 trillion), including more than US$2 billion (Rp32.5 trillion) in 2024 alone," Apple said, quoted on Wednesday, May 27.
The company also explained that it managed to stop more than 146 thousand developer accounts due to fraud. They have also rejected the landing of 139,000 developers for the same reason, namely fraudulent concerns.

Furthermore, Apple said that it had blocked 711 million customer accounts for alleged malicious activity and blocked more than 10,000 illegal apps in pirated stores. The removal of this application includes malware, pornography, and gambling.
Basically, Apple wants to show that the App Store is a very important application for iOS, iPadOS, or macOS users. The company also focuses on providing a positive and safe experience for its users.
"Apple will continue to build its commitment to providing the safest and protected experience for users on the App Store, including empowering them with resources to get help and report alleged fraud," Apple said.
