Novak Djokovic Keeps Record In The First Round Of Roland Garros
JAKARTA Novak Djokovic qualified for the second round of Roland Garros 2025 to keep his record unbeaten in the first round of the biggest event on the clay field.
The Serbian tennis player continued his journey after winning 6-3, 6-3, and 6-3 over McDonald's Macch from the United States on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, evening French time.
"It's a solid game. I know he (Mackenzie McDonald) can play with better standards than today, but I'm very happy with what I've accomplished," Djokovic said after the match.
This is Djokovic's first match on clay at Roland Garros after last year he won the Paris Olympics gold medal with a win over Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic, who competed just three days after he won his 100th title in his career at the Gonet Geneva Open, appeared solid in all aspects of his game for one hour 58 minutes in this match.
"Obviously, I feel even more happy here because I revived the memories of the 2024 Olympics, the last time I played on this pitch. It was a very beautiful emotion," said Djokovic.
The latest win against McDonald's saw Djokovic set a 20-0 win-loss record in the first round at Roland Garros.
The 38-year-old has never lost a set in a Paris opening game since he needed four sets to beat Evgeny Korolev in 2010.
Djokovic, who is the sixth seed in the tournament, will next face Corentin Moutet, who defeated fellow French player Clement Tabur, in three straight sets.
Currently Djokovic has collected 24 Grand Slam titles in his career. That is the most in tennis history, both in the men's and women's singles categories.
