French President Macron Wants Solutions To 2 Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Countries
French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated his desire to see a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Macron said there were no double standards in France's policy towards the Middle East.
Macron is leaning towards recognition of the Palestinian state, diplomats and experts say, a move that could anger Israel and deepen Western divisions.
"Only a political solution will allow the restoration of peace and long-term development," Macron said.
"Together with Saudi Arabia, we will soon hold a conference on Gaza in New York to provide a new push for recognition of the Palestinian state and recognition of the State of Israel as well as its right to live in peace and security in this region," Macron added.
