Zak Starkey Opens Voice Regarding Second Dismissal At The Who
JAKARTA - Former drummer for The Who, Zak Starkey, opened his voice over the chaos he experienced with Roger Daltrey (vocals) and Pete Townshend (guitar) in the past month.
As is known, The Who fired Starkey in mid-April, following their appearance at Royal Albert Hall. But a week later, Townshend made a statement that The Who did not ask the drummer to resign, but asked him to tighten his playing style.
Not even a month, Townshend through the official Instagram account The Who again reported Starkey leaving the band. Scott Devours was officially appointed as a substitute.
Responding to the confusing events of many fans, Starkey opened his voice via Instagram. He revealed that Roger Daltrey asked him to state that he was not fired from The Who, but retired.
Through the upload on Instagram, Starkey is also trying to clarify rumors about hostility with the two members of The Who.
"I had a great phone message with Roger last weekend, which really confused us both," Starkey said, citing an upload caption, Wednesday, May 28.

The 59-year-old drummer continued, Roger said I was not 'fired'...I had 'retired' to work on my own project.
"I explained to Roger that I have only spent nearly eight weeks in my studio in Jamaica to complete these projects, that my group Mantra Of The Cosmos released one single in early June and after that it was done."
Starkey does not want to make a statement on his retirement from The Who, because he admits that he is ready for what the band will do in the future.
"I'm completely ready for the future .... Rog said 'Oh!' and we left him there in good relations and good friends like we always did.
But at the end of his clarification, Starkey stated that he did not have the quarrel as expected.
'I love these people. As my mother used to say 'My mind is chaotic!!!'
