Discussing The 2024 Election With PDIP, PAN: Not Only Winning, We Have The Task Of Printing Statesmen

JAKARTA - PDI-P and the National Mandate Party (PAN) discussed the 2024 General Election (Pemilu). This was done when the secretaries-general of each party spoke at the Muhammadiyah Youth National Coordination Meeting in Jakarta, Sunday, May 2.

On that occasion, Hasto initially mentioned that the mutual cooperation of the founders of the nation had been going on for a long time. Thus, neither party can claim to be the sole owner of Indonesia.

"Indonesia is a mutual cooperation state that makes the people the only legitimate holder of power. Since its inception, mutual cooperation has been real. Muhammadiyah, Nahdatul Ulama (NU), and PNI as representatives of the Nationalist group have always jointly pioneered an independent Indonesia," said Hasto in a statement. written statement.

So, by looking at this history, the cooperation between PAN and PDIP has historical and ideological legitimacy.

"So if the forerunner of PAN is Muhammadiyah, then our cooperation with PAN and Muhammadiyah Youth has historical and ideological legitimacy. Because we were the ones who held the torch of the Indonesian spirit from the start," he said.

So, reflecting on this, Hasto encouraged Muhammadiyah youths not to look at domestic conflicts that seemed to clash between Pancasila and Islam. On the contrary, all parties must strive to encourage the progress of Indonesia in the world.

He then touched on Indonesia's role in successfully pushing for the independence of the Moroccan, Tunisian and Algerian nations, as well as full support for Palestine and Pakistan. That, said Hasto, what should be given attention is not only looking at domestic problems and seeking sympathy for the 2024 elections.

"Why all of a sudden now everyone is thinking inward? Just dancing for 2024? Where is our strength to liberate other nations? So we have to be outward looking," he said.

"So the Muhammadiyah Youth does not only talk about about 2024 in what political position. But also when it comes to politics, what will we fight for for civilization, create a history of progress for Indonesia's leadership for the world? Let's come out with our best ideas," he said.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of PAN Eddy Soeparno, in the same event, said that so far many think political parties are only thinking about winning elections every five years. In fact, what many do not know is that political parties are actually thinking about how to create statesmen.

"Often called politicians, they only think about electorally every five years. However, statesmen think about what the next generation will be. Mas Hasto with us at PAN, maybe it can be called a hybrid," said Eddy.

He then explained that PAN and PDIP are parties that are tasked with winning the election. However, there is a main task that they often do but cannot see, namely to produce statesmen.

"We are hybrid politicians. That means our job is to win the election. That's right. That is the main task so that people can fight for the aspirations of the people. However, the main task is to create statesmen who think about the future generation of the nation," he concluded.
