Korean Veteran Actor Choi Jung Woo Dies

JAKARTA - Sad news came from South Korea. Actor Choi Jung Woo passed away on Tuesday, May 27 and was confirmed by Bless ENT as the actor's agency.

"Actor Choi Jung Woo passed away," the agency said on the same day.

Furthermore, they have not explained the cause of Choi Jung Woo but they said the funeral would be held on May 29.

"The cause of death cannot be confirmed with certainty," the agency said.

Choi Jung Woo was born in 1957 and debuted in 1975 as a theater actor. Later, he actively worked with theater companies like Shinsi to act on stage.

His name became known after playing various Korean drama titles, Alone In Love, God's Quiz, Two Dogs, Brilliant Legacy, and others.

Choi Jung Woo plays many roles as a father of main characters or supporting characters. Some of the titles he played include Legend of the Blue Sea, Matrimonial Chaos, Soul Mechanic, Sisyphus: The Myth, Call It Love, The Tale of Lady Ok.

His acting was last seen in Secret Relationships this year and his last film, Ransomed in 2023.

Choi Jung Woo will be buried at the Gimpo Woori Funeral Home which is scheduled for May 29 at 10.00 WIB.

Actor Choi Jung Woo died at the age of 68.
