The PKB Faction Calls Economic Growth Targets For 2026 Less Optimistic
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PKB Faction, Rifqy Abdul Halim, assessed that the 2026 economic growth target set by the government, which is in the range of 5.2 percent to 5.8 percent, is quite conservative and seems less optimistic.
"The PKB faction argues that the range of economic growth targets in 2026 is quite conservative and is considered underestimative or less optimistic," he said at the DPR RI Plenary Meeting, May 27.
According to him, this is considered inconsistent with the government's commitment to achieve economic growth by 8 percent at the end of the government period.
He conveyed that the PKB faction projects economic growth in 2026 with a more optimistic approach, namely in the range of 5.6 percent to 6 percent or higher than the government's projection.
Rifqy said that this projection can be achieved with the record that the government needs to strengthen domestic economic resilience through various strategies, including encouraging household consumption, increasing capital-intensive and labor-intensive investment flows, increasing export volume, and strengthening people's purchasing power.
"This condition can be achieved with the note that the government must strengthen domestic economic resilience by encouraging household consumption to increase the flow of investment into the country which is capital-intensive and labor-intensive, increasing export volume, strengthening people's purchasing power," he explained.
