8 DPR Factions Convey KEM-PPKF Views, Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Ensures 2026 RAPBN Answers People's Needs
JAKARTA - A total of eight factions in the DPR RI expressed their views on the Macroeconomic Framework and the Principles of Fiscal Policy (KEM and PPKF) of the RAPBN for Fiscal Year 2026 at the DPR Plenary Meeting held at Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 27.
Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, stated that the DPR would ensure that the 2026 RAPBN was really intended to answer the people's needs.
"Currently, national development currently has a number of challenges that are ultimately limited by the ability of state finances. Therefore, priority programs and planned, measurable, and coordinated work are needed," said Puan in her speech.
Puan stated that the DPR RI through its constitutional functions will help strengthen the state policies needed by the government to maintain and protect national interests in facing various national development challenges.
In the legislative function, Puan said, the Indonesian House of Representatives will continue to discuss eight Draft Laws which are currently still in the stage of Level I Talks.
"In establishing the Law, the DPR RI and the Government are committed to continuing to prioritize meaningful community participation (meaningful participation)," said Puan.
"This commitment is realized through respect for people's rights, including the right to be heard, the right to be heard, the right to be explained, and the right to consider their opinions (right to be considered) in the process of forming laws," he continued.

Meanwhile, through the budget function, Puan said that the Indonesian House of Representatives had overseen the implementation of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2025 and observed the initial discussion of the fiscal policy direction for Fiscal Year 2026.
Puan revealed that the realization of the first quarter of 2025 budget still shows fiscal consolidation within the Government. He appealed that the implementation of the 2025 State Budget efficiency is accompanied by good performance and transparency in its management.
"Every rupiah used in the APBN or saved is people's money that is entrusted to be managed to build a prosperous people's life," said Puan.
Puan also mentioned the KEM-PPKF in 2026 with the theme 'Food Sovereignty, Energy, and Economy'. According to Puan, this theme shows the Government's commitment to carry out substantial structural reforms so that Indonesia has the ability and strength of the country to meet the needs of food, energy, and national economic strength.
"The theme is also very relevant to an increasingly complex and uncertain global order. Global dynamics is currently increasingly demanding that we cannot rely fully on global market mechanisms. We must build domestic power," he explained.
"The DPR RI will continue to observe that the State Budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year is designed to be adaptive and resilient in facing global pressures as well as being able to answer the people's needs in national development," continued Puan.
Puan then mentioned the Summary of the Examination Results of the BPK RI Semester II in 2024 and the Examination Result Report on the 2024 Central Government Financial Report that has been submitted to the DPR today.
"During the next trial, the Council's Completeness Equipment can immediately follow up on the report on the results of the BPK examination," the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture said.
Closing this trial period, Puan expressed her appreciation for the hard work of all members of the DPR RI who have worked to realize the people's expectations. He reminded that the people have high hopes for the constitutional work of the DPR RI.
"It's time for us to enter a recess to greet, listen to and absorb the aspirations of the people, explain the constitutional tasks that have been carried out by the DPR RI, and unite the people in the spirit of mutual cooperation to build Indonesia's progress," explained Puan.
Thus, the DPR will enter a recess period for the Third Session Period for the 2024-2025 Session Year from May 28 to June 23, 2025.
