Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief Values The Need For KPK's Involvement In Investigating Stabbing Mining Corruption
JAKARTA - The Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Kapolda) Inspector General Pol. Didik Agung Widjanarko is ready to coordinate with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to handle corruption cases in the Bumi Anoa area.
Didik sees the need for the involvement of the KPK in disclosing corruption cases in the mining sector in Southeast Sulawesi, especially since there are a number of cases of mining corruption that are still stagnant.
Didik emphasized that the coordination between the KPK and the regional police to uncover corruption cases in mining was not too difficult. Didik is known to be the former Deputy for Coordination and Supervision of the KPK who was transferred to the Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief.
"Because my duties there are related to coordination and supervision, we can ask for reinforcement from the KPK so that the case can run well," said the Kapolda in Kendari, Tuesday, May 27, as quoted by Antara.
He will re-check corruption cases within the police related to any cases that have been completed and any cases that are still stagnant.
"We will coordinate which cases cannot yet run, how to follow up so that in the future there is legal certainty," he explained.
