PTPP Implements Asphalt Innovation On The South Overlay Runway Project Of Soekarno-Hatta Airport
JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) as the implementing contractor for the South Overlay Runway project at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, ensures the readiness and high quality of the ongoing work.
This project aims to increase the carrying capacity of southern air side movement facilities that serve more than 900 flights every day. In its implementation, PTPP implements Multi Machine Global Positioning System (MMGPS) technological innovation to ensure the accuracy and level of the runway's surface according to design, especially in the first layer.
The review of progress and quality of project work was also carried out by the Commissioner and Board of Directors of PTPP during his visit on Thursday, May 22. During this visit, PTPP President Commissioner Dhony Rahajoe along with the board of commissioners, as well as PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad and the board of directors went directly to the field to ensure that the work on the South Runway project at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was in accordance with the quality, zero accidents, and could be completed on time.
"This asphalting work is very challenging because it must be done at night, starting at 22.00 to 06.00 or called critical 8 hours because if it is not completed on time, the entire schedule of the airline or operational activities of Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta airport will be disrupted. We also face weather challenges such as rain, but PTPP remains committed to maintaining quality and timeliness of implementation," said Joko Raharjo's Corporate Secretary.
Another challenge is of course high asphalt specifications for airport runways. The quality of the asphalt for airport runway specifications is also very high, where the specifications are different from toll roads or regular national roads.
"To ensure the quality of asphalt with materials that have high specifications, the project itself manages the materials to obtain asphalt that has high quality and faster production time," said Joko.
