Hooray! The Padang 'Sicincin Toll Road Can Be Crossed Freely Starting Tomorrow

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) announced that the Pekanbaru Toll Road "Padang Section Padang" Sicincin is officially operational and can be crossed for free on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 starting at 07.00 WIB.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said this tariffless operation was officially carried out after the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Public Works (PU) Number 519/KPTS/M/2025 dated May 19, 2025, which stipulates that the toll road can be fully operated.

Adjib said, before operating, this toll road had passed the Functional Feasibility Test (ULF) on January 22-24, 2025 and then obtained an Operational Functional Feasibility Certificate (SLFO) on April 30, 2025 from the Ministry of Public Works.

"With the passing of the ULF and the issuance of SLFO and Kepmen, the Padang 'Sicincin Toll Road has been officially declared safe and suitable for use by the general public," said Adjib in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, May 27.

As the first toll road in West Sumatra Province, according to Adjib, the operation of this section is a new history in the connectivity and mobility of the local community.

Even though the toll tariff has not yet been charged, road users crossing the Padang 'Sicincin Toll Road still have to tap electronic money cards (EU).

"Make sure the card is active and has sufficient balance," he said.

The presence of the Padang 'Sicincin Toll Road will significantly cut the travel time from Padang City, which previously took about 1.5 hours through national roads, to only 30 minutes using toll roads.

Meanwhile, during the functional trial period during the Christmas and New Year holidays (December 2024-January 2025) and the 2025 Eid Homecoming (23 March-10 April 2025), these sections were crossed by thousands of vehicles with Zero Fatality records.

"The operation of this toll road is part of Hutama Karya's commitment to providing real useful toll road infrastructure for the community, especially in West Sumatra," he concluded.
