Money Beats Everything, Chiesa Is Ready To Be Released By Fiorentina
JAKARTA - Fiorentina is unlikely to be able to hold back the departure of their mascot, Federico Chiesa. President Rocco Commisso is open to selling the striker to Juventus or Inter Milan.
The Italy international has been linked with a move from the Artemio Franchi. The son of former Azzurri striker Enrico Chiesa, is a trainee at the I Viola youth academy.
In fact, Commisso wants to keep the 22-year-old player. But now he says Chiesa - on contract until 2022 - will be allowed to leave if the right offer is made.
"I promise that if the right offer arrives and he wants to leave, we will approve it," Comisso told Top Calcio 24, Wednesday, April 15.
"However, I think that the situation in Firenze has changed in Federico's eyes and I hope they (the players) can all be more solid to make even better achievements in the competition," added the president.
Chiesa has scored six goals and provided three assists in 23 Serie A games before the season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic or the coronavirus.
Fiorentina, meanwhile, struggled to finish 13th in the standings when the season was stopped. So far, there is no certainty when the competition will resume.
