Replace Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso Starts Training Real Madrid

JAKARTA - Spain's elite club coach Real Madrid Xabi Alonso insists his team will start a new era soon after he was officially introduced by the club last Monday.

"I feel like we have a fantastic team. That's what gives me the energy to come here, to try and get the best out of each player while building a great team," Alonso said on the Madrid website in Jakarta on Tuesday as reported by Antara.

"We can achieve the great things that are worthy of Real Madrid and everything they have won in the past. We want fans to feel that emotion, and enjoy and feel proud of their team. Hala Madrid!" he continued.

Alonso was announced to be Real coach last weekend replacing Carlo Ancelotti, who this season completed his second term with Los Blancos without winning the main trophy,

Alonso came to Madrid with the stock of handling German League club Bayer Leverkusen for three years and brought the team to win the German League and German Cup in 2024.

"It's the start of the new chapter and I want to thank the club president for the trust he has given me, and for trusting me as the right person to lead the club's new era," Alonso explained.

"I'm full of energy and excited. I can feel how much Madridism really wants to start a new one and add to the history of this club which is already extraordinary," he concluded.

Alonso will lead Madrid bringing Kylian Mbappe cs to win the 2025 Club World Cup which was attended by 32 teams and held on 15 June-13 July 2025 in the United States.

Madrid are in Group H with Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia, Pachuca from Mexico, and RB Salzburg from Austria.
