Mengjeng At IMW 2025, PIS Presents Strategic Innovation And Collaboration

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), a subholding integrated marine and logistics from PT Pertamina (Persero), reiterated its role as a catalyst for national maritime transformation through its participation and support in the Indonesia Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 which was held on May 26 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Jakarta.

Plt Direktur Utama PIS Surya Tri Harto mengatakan, menanggapi tantangan peningkatan kualitas SDM pelayar nasional, PIS mengambil peran aktif melalui ajang maritim internasional pertama di Indonesia ini.

"By presenting various programs that illustrate the strategic role and commitment of PIS to the development of various aspects of the national maritime industry. Starting from a strategic discussion session that discusses related to business strategies, social campaigns, to blood donation actions," he said, Monday, May 26.

Surya explained that this overall initiative reflects PIS's mission to create a maritime industry ecosystem that not only prioritizes business strategies but is also committed to creating an adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable national maritime industry.

"Through active participation in this forum, PIS hopes to expand strategic cooperation, attract investment, and share the best practices to build a resilient and sustainable shipping ecosystem in the Asian region," he continued.

Surya said, one of PIS' main focuses is introducing cargo diversification measures and expanding international shipping routes to more than 65 countries, including strengthening global attendance through branch offices in Singapore, Dubai and London.

In addition, PIS also shows environmentally friendly technological innovation and digital transformation in ship operations at visiting booths aimed at attracting investment from within and outside the country. This collaboration and strategic cooperation is one of the main highlights of PIS' participation in the 2025 IMW event.

"Our participation in Indonesia Maritime Week 2025 is an important part of this effort, because this forum opens space for strategic collaboration, technology exchange, and promotion of national shipping competitiveness to the international arena. Through the IMW 2025, PIS wants to show that Indonesia is capable of becoming the world's maritime axis by prioritizing connectivity, sustainability, and digital transformation," concluded Surya.

Previously in his opening remarks, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, emphasized the importance of developing human resources as one of the catalysts in increasing the competitiveness of the national maritime industry.

"In recent years, the government has focused on improving the quality and competitiveness of national seafarers' human resources, including through more comprehensive training and certification in accordance with international standards," he said.

Meanwhile, in his remarks at the opening of Indonesia Maritime Week 2025, Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Arsenio Dominguez, emphasized the importance of increasing national maritime connectivity.

Connectivity and sustainability are the foundations of the future of the global maritime industry. Forums like IMW are important to encourage cross-border collaboration and innovation," said Dominguez.
