SAR Team Searches For Man Who Jumped Into The Sea From Kendari Bay Bridge
KENDARI - The Kendari Search and Rescue Office or Basarnas, Southeast Sulawesi, dispatched a SAR team to search for a man who jumped into the sea from the Kendari Bay Bridge, Kendari City.
Head of Basarnas Kendari Aminuddin PS said in the search seven personnel were deployed.
The search operation was carried out after his party received information from residents regarding a man who jumped into the sea at 19.40 WITA, Monday, May 26.
"We received information from residents that there had been a dangerous condition for a man who jumped on the Kendari Bay Bridge," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
Based on this information, his party then dispatched the Kendari Basarnas Rescue Team to the location to provide SAR assistance at 19.55 WITA.
"The distance from the Kendari Basarnas is about 17 kilometers," he said.

When they arrived at the location, the SAR team together with other joint personnel coordinated to search the waters around the bridge to find victims.
"In the search, Basarnas also involved five Polairud Polda personnel, four Lanal Kendari Navy personnel, three KP3 Police personnel, three KSOP members, and two members of the SHMS PUPR monitoring office," said Aminuddin.
Based on information from local residents, initially the victim got off the motorbike driven with the police number DT 5085 RF while crying and immediately jumped from the Kenuk Bridge rather than 19.10 WITA.
"Residents who were around the scene contacted the Kendari Basarnas for help," he said.
Until now, the joint SAR team is still carrying out search efforts for victims.
