What Are The Advantages Of Ma'ruf Amin's Son Being In The Democrat Party?

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) appointed the daughter of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Siti Nur Azizah as Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) of his party.

Even though she is still new, Siti is trusted in managing this party with the mercy star symbol. Azizah believes that her existence can strengthen the party.

"By joining Democrats, I believe I can strengthen the party locally and nationally," Azizah told reporters, Thursday, April 16.

Azizah joined the Democrat Party because he wanted to support AHY, who he considered to have qualified political capabilities even though he was still young by serving as chairman. In addition, he considered the Democrat Party able to carry out the regeneration of the political world because it had appointed AHY as their general chairman.

In addition, Azizah considers the Democratic Party to have a nationalist-religious ideology. He considered this to facilitate his steps to interact with the community.

"In this way I am confident and ready to fight with the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is my rational political choice, so I decide independently," he said.

Azizah is said to be running for the 2020 South Tangerang Regional Election. He believes that his presence in the Democratic Party can strengthen parties in the local political sphere. In addition, when he won the South Tangerang regional election, Azizah believed that the Democrat Party's vote would increase in this area.

"The Democratic Party has great potential. With a little touch, God willing, this party will rise," he said.

Executive Director of Parameters Indonesia Adi Prayitno assessed that Azizah's existence in the Democratic Party was based on the principle of mutualism. He said, Nur Azizah needed an advanced political vehicle in Tangsel and at the same time the Democratic Party needed a figure of Siti Nur Azizah who had political resources in the form of popularity and the son of the Vice President.

"In politics, it is a common matter because we need each other," he said when contacted by VOI via text message.

Each party, according to Adi, has a policy of opening opportunities for externals to enter its board of directors. However, in return, this figure must have a positive electoral impact on the party.

"This is what happened to Nur Azizah. There is hope that democratic political power can increase because he has political resources," he said.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Indonesian Political Review, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that Azizah's appointment as wasekjen was a form of privilege that usually occurs in political circles, as long as there is mutual reciprocity. "It is a privilege to make his son Wapres Ma'ruf Amin the Deputy Chief General a privilege," said Ujang.

"Siti Nur Azizah benefits directly from being a top Democrat Party leader, while the advantages of the Democrats are that there is a network to the Republic of Indonesia-2 and in politics is a common thing," he added.

For Azizah, Ujang said, apart from securing his steps in the South Tangerang Regional Election, he would also have the advantage of being able to have a career in the political sphere, not only at the local level but also at the national level with the position of party's wasek general.

"The position of the wasekjen in the Democrat Party further strengthens this selling point. He usually plays politics at the local Tangsel level. Now (Azizah) is already in the national political circle," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the Democratic Party, AHY, had issued two Democratic Ketum Decrees. The contents, first are the composition of the daily Democrats for the 2020-2025 period, the second is the composition of the plenary board.

"For the daily board there are 100 people, the plenary board is 200 people. So, in detail each Democratic cadre can see 200 names of the board members in their respective positions in the General Chairperson's Decree," AHY said in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 15. night.

AHY claims that he compiles the names of the management carefully, precisely, fairly and wisely. This is because the Democratic Party's organizational design must be adaptive, according to the needs and challenges of the current task and in the next five years.
