Bahlil Sahkan RUPTL 2025-2034, RI Targetkan Add Capacity Listrik 69,5 GW

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia officially ratified the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) 2025-2034.

In this new RUPTL, the government targets to increase the national power generation capacity by 69.5 gigawatts (GW) with a portion of 42.6 GW or 61 percent allocated for EBT generators.

"To realize the RUPTL in the future, we need 69.5 GW of electricity from 2025 to 2034," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, May 26.

Bahlil detailed, in this RUPTL from the target of increasing electricity capacity by 69.5 GW, as many as 42.6 GW or 61 percent were allocated to EBT plants, while fossil power plants contributed 16.6 GW or 24 percent and energy storage systems of 10.3 GW.

From the EBT plant, he continued, electricity from the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) was targeted at 17.1 GW, hydroelectric power plant (PLTA) at 11.7 GW, power plant Bayu or wind (PLTB) at 7.2 GW, geothermal at 5.2 GW, bioenergy at 0.9 GW, and nuclear plants at 0.5 GW. From the storage side, a pump storage of 4.3 GW and a 6 GW battery will be built.

As for fossil-based power plants, Bahlil said the electricity capacity of gas-fueled plants is targeted at 10.3 GW and coal at 6.3 GW.

"In Europe, there are still using coal. In Turkey there are still many using coal, we are too contemporary. But that's okay, this is in order to protect the earth," said Bahlil.
