Singapore Open 2025: Indonesia Sends 7 Representatives

JAKARTA Indonesia only fielded seven representatives at the Singapore Open 2025, the Super 750 BWF level tournament which will take place this week.

The event, which was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, will be held from 27 May to 1 June 2025. The total prize provided is one million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 16.2 billion.

The seven representatives only represent the men's singles, men's doubles, and mixed sectors. The men's men's men's uploads have single representatives, while the other two sectors have three each.

The only Indonesian men's singles representative to play there is Jonatan Christie. The 27-year-old badminton player will make his debut as a professional player.

Jonathan has left the national training camp (Pelatnas) of the Badminton Association throughout Indonesia since the middle of this month with Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

Jonathan, who is the fifth seed, will start the journey from the first round of the Singapore Open 2025 against Malaysia's singles, Ng Tze Yong.

The representatives in the men's doubles who played there were Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

Next, the mixed doubles sector sent Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

Indonesia in 2024 did not bring home the title from the Singapore Open. At that time Fajar/Rian were the only representatives who entered the final, but had to settle for being runners up.
