Polemic Of Appointment Of Director General Of Customs And Excise, Gerindra Politician Says It Is In Accordance With Meritocracy

JAKARTA - The appointment of Lieutenant General Djaka Budi Utama as Director General (Dirjen) of Customs and Excise is still causing a polemic. Although it has been conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary who is also the spokesman for President Prabowo Subianto, Prasetyo Hadi, that Djaka Budi has resigned from the TNI, criticism is still flowing.

The appointment of Djaka Budi is considered to have violated the meritocracy in filling the positions of the state civil apparatus. This means that the appointment should first choose internal at the Directorate of Customs and Excise or at the Ministry of Finance.

As is known, Lt. Gen. Djaka Budi is an active TNI member who has resigned.

Gerindra Party politician Sudaryono when met by reporters at the Merdeka Palace Complex, Jakarta, Sunday, May 25, said that the appointment of Djaka Budi was in accordance with meritocracy.
