President Trump Disappointed With Russia's Attack On Ukraine

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump on Sunday expressed his disapproval of Russia's bombing of Ukraine over the weekend by naming President Vladimir Putin.

"I don't know what's wrong with him. What happened to him? Right? He killed a lot of people. I'm not happy with that," President Trump told reporters at the airport in Morristown, New Jersey, as he prepared to return to Washington.

President Trump spoke in reaction to a series of 367 Russian drones and missiles in Ukrainian cities on Sunday morning, including the capital Kyiv, the largest airstrikes in the war so far, which killed at least 12 people and injured dozens more.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked the United States, which has taken a softer public stance on Russia and its leader, Vladimir Putin, since President Donald Trump took office, to speak up.

"The silence of America, the silence of other countries in the world is only encouraging Putin," he wrote on Telegram.

"Any Russian terrorist attack like that is sufficient reason for new sanctions against Russia," President Zelensky added.

It is known that President Trump has sought both sides to agree to a ceasefire in the three-year war in Ukraine. Last week, President Trump spoke for more than two hours on the phone with President Putin.

He put forward the possibility of imposing more sanctions on Russia in response to ongoing attacks.

"I've always gotten along with him, but he sends rockets into cities and kills people, and I don't like him at all," said President Trump.
