Hundreds Of Fake Oli Dus Confiscated From Warehouse In Wonomulyo, Polewali Mandar

The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditkrimsus) of the West Sulawesi Police during a raid on a warehouse in Polewali Mandar Regency yesterday, confiscated three trucks containing hundreds of boxes of fake oil.

"There are three trucks of evidence containing suspected fake oil that we confiscated as evidence," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the West Sulawesi Police AKBP Saprodin, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 26.

The three trucks with evidence, said Saprodin, were the first trucks containing 557 boxes, the second truck 359 boxes and the third truck 327 boxes.

"In the warehouse there are still about 500 boxes that we will immediately secure," said Saprodin.

On Sunday (25/5), the West Sulawesi Police Ditkrimsus Team raided a false oil storage warehouse in Wonomomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency.

Investigators from the Ditkrimsus Polda Sulbar, continued Saprodin, are still conducting in-depth examinations of warehouse owners to reveal who was involved, and how the fake oils were distributed to the market.

"We will explore all possibilities, including distribution channels and parties involved," said Saprodin.

The raid on the false oil storage warehouse in Wonomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency was the result of an intensive two-month investigation by the Ditreskrimsus Industrial and Trade Sub-Directorate (Indagsi).

"This finding indicates that there is an illegal distribution network being traced by the police," said Saprodin.

Meanwhile, Head of Sub-Directorate for Indagsi Ditkrimsus Polda Sulbar AKBP Ivan Wahyudi, who was also at the location, emphasized the commitment of the West Sulawesi Regional Police in eradicating illegal trade practices.

"We will not tolerate the circulation of illegal goods, let alone those that endanger consumers and damage the regional economy. This is a form of our commitment to maintain the economic stability of the people in West Sulawesi," said Ivan Wahyudi.

The raid, he continued, was a strong warning to rogue business actors who tried to reap profits through counterfeit and illegal products.

"The West Sulawesi Regional Police ensures that the investigation will continue to be carried out thoroughly," said Ivan Wahyudi.

The warehouse, which was raided in Wonomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency, stores oil that does not meet Indonesia's national standards (SNI), with labels resembling original products, but the quality of the contents is far below standard, and without official seal.

The oil, said Saprodin. is suspicious because it comes from various brands and types, but does not show the proper official label or seal.

"The strong suspicion leads to the practice of mixing oil for illegal resales, with great risks for consumers," said Saprodin.
