DLH Bogor Seals Industrial Location For Alleged Violation Of Waste Management B3

BOGOR Bogor Regency Government through the Environment Agency (DLH) conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of a number of industrial locations in the eastern region of Bogor Regency, following public reports related to allegations of environmental pollution due to hazardous and toxic waste (B3).

Head of Law Enforcement and Waste Management of B3 DLH Bogor Regency, Gantara Lenggana, explained that violations were found at PT Tri Jaya Sukses Abadi. The company is considered to have violated the provisions in the management of B3 waste and the wastewater treatment plant system (IPAL).

"We found violations such as inappropriate waste disposal and waste treatment that did not comply with the rules. We sealed four points with the PPLH line," said Gantara in his statement, Sunday, May 25.

The four points include packaging disposal areas contaminated with B3 waste, coal ash mixed with runoff, acid-based waste water from the inventory process, as well as trash dumping and cloth fibers exposed to B3 waste.

The team also took wastewater samples from IPAL outlets and water bodies in the upstream and downstream parts to be tested in the laboratory. DLH gave 14 days to wait for the test results.

If laboratory results show pollution above the threshold, administrative sanctions, government coercion, and fines will be given. The company is also required to improve the IPAL system and waste management," he said.

In addition, inspections were also carried out at PT KIM. However, no violations or pollution were found as previously reported.

The DLH team also followed up on public reports regarding waste management at the Slaughterhouse owned by PT Karyampangan Sejahtera which is located upstream of the Cileungsi Sub-DAS, Citeureup District. At this location, discrepancies were found in waste management, so sealing was carried out.

DLH ensures that IPAL sampling is carried out professionally by the Syslab team. Laboratory results will be the basis for further action.

Gantara hopes that this activity will serve as a warning for industry players to comply with environmental regulations. Supervision, he said, will continue to be improved, especially in the Citeureup, Gunung Putri, Klapanunggal, Cileungsi, Jonggol, Cariu, to Tanjungsari areas.

"We urge all business actors to comply with environmental regulations. Let's protect nature together, because nature belongs to all of us," he concluded.
