No More Complicated! Google Changes How To Change Accounts On Android

Jakarta Google has officially started rolling out new designs for account replacement features (account switchers) in some of its applications. This brings a faster, more practical, and intuitive experience for users who have more than one account. This redesign began to be seen several weeks ago in the Google Maps app, and is now gradually starting to appear in the Google Translate, Google Wallet, and Google Tasks applications.

This new design is part of a refinement that Google has been working on since last August 2024, with the aim of equating the user experience on mobile devices to the web version. In the old version, the process of changing the account feels quite complicated because it involves several additional steps.

Users have to tap on the profile photo, then select your Manage your Google Account, then tap on the email address to open a list of other accounts stored on the device. This process not only takes time, but is also considered less efficient, especially for those who actively use multiple Google accounts in their daily lives.

But with a new look, the process has been significantly simplified. When the user taps on the profile photo in the app, they are immediately greeted with a cleaner and more compact view. The main account profile photo remains performing at the top accompanied by the Manage Your Google Account button, but now there is a new menu called Change Account that can be developed with one tap. This menu displays a list of all Google accounts that have been added to the device, options to add a new account, as well as a setting button to manage the account stored on the device.

This new design not only makes navigation between accounts faster, but also reduces the number of beats needed to change accounts, thus providing more convenience for users who often change roles between personal, work, or organization accounts.

Although currently only available on Translate, Wallet, and Tasks, this change is expected to soon follow more other Google applications. Based on findings in the APK's teasedown some time ago, a similar look will be applied to Google Calendar and Google Keep in the near future.

This step is part of Google's ongoing efforts to improve user experience as a whole, especially in an ecosystem that is increasingly integrated between applications. Users are expected to immediately update their application through the Google Play Store in order to enjoy this new feature.

With this update, Google demonstrates its commitment to continuously simplify user interactions amid the complexity of today's digital needs where efficiency and comfort are highly valued.
