OJK Strengthens Financial Literacy For Persons With Disabilities In Jambi

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) strengthens literacy for persons with disabilities in Jambi Province who are included in the priority target of financial education in accordance with the 2021-2025 Indonesian Financial Literacy National Strategy (SNLKI).

Head of the Jambi Province OJK Yan Iswara Rosya in Jambi, Sunday, said the main challenge in this education was the formal delivery of information and communication to people with sensory disabilities.

Overcoming these challenges, he said, OJK has issued Financial Service Access Guidelines for Empowered Disabilities (SeTARA Guidelines), which in this guideline has been stated that PUJK can provide understanding to consumers with disabilities to products and services in the financial services sector.

OJK also asked Financial Services Business Actors (PUJK) to provide services that are friendly and easily accessible to persons with disabilities in POJK 22 of 2023.

At the regional level, OJK also initiated the Financial Literacy Ambassador in order to carry out more massive and equitable education with priority targets for persons with disabilities.

OJK ensures synergy with institutions that oversee people with disabilities to carry out education, in collaboration with sign interpreters on every webinar or financial education activity.

The Jambi Province OJK office in the first quarter of 2025 has carried out education for people with disabilities four times.

The financial education was, among others, given to people with disabilities and orphanages in Jambi City as many as 30 people.

OJK Jambi also provides education to 100 people with disabilities in the context of launching a financial literacy month in Muara Jambi Regency.

Then, financial education for people with disabilities in Sungai Penuh City with a target of 30 participants and a financial education for people with disabilities in Jambi City, which was attended by 70 participants.
