Good News From East Kalimantan, 65,393 People Recovering From COVID-19
JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force for East Kalimantan Province said that the number of cured COVID-19 cases in its area increased by 192 people on Saturday, May 1.
The spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force for East Kalimantan Province Andi Muhammad Ishak said positive confirmed cases had an increase of 137 cases.
"The addition of positive cases is still quite large, namely over a hundred cases, therefore the public must remain vigilant and disciplined in implementing health protocols", said Andi, quoted from Antara, Sunday, May 2.
He said additional recovered cases occurred in Berau with 10 cases, West Kutai 78 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 13 cases, East Kutai 12 cases, Paser 26 cases, North Penajam Paser 5 cases, Balikpapan 33 cases, Bontang 1 case, and Samarinda 14 cases.
Meanwhile, additional positive confirmed cases occurred in Berau with 8 cases, West Kutai 24 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 18 cases, East Kutai 2 cases, Paser 18 cases, Penajam Paser Utara 3 cases, Balikpapan 21 cases, Bontang 4 cases, and Samarinda 39 cases.
"The accumulation of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan was 68,765 cases, while cases that had been declared cured were 65,393 cases", said Andi M Ishak.
He added that the case of death also experienced an increase in one case that occurred in the city of Balikpapan.
"The total number of cases died of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan was 1,636 cases", he explained.
Andi emphasized that based on data from the COVID-19 Task Force for East Kalimantan Province as of May 1, 2021, 1,736 COVID-19 patients were still undergoing treatment.
The patients were scattered in Balikpapan with 402 patients, Samarinda with 350 patients, Kutai Barat with 336 patients, Kutai Kartanegara with 162 patients, and Berau with 140 patients.
Furthermore, Bontang 119 patients, East Kutai 103 patients, Paser 69 patients, North Panajam Paser 39 patients, and Mahakam Ulu 15 patients.
