Many Potentials, Pramono Anung Targets Jakarta To Enter The Top 50 Global Cities By 2029
JAKARTA - By maximizing their potential, DKI Governor Pramono Anung targets Jakarta to be included in the list of the top 50 global cities or ranked 58th in 2029.
"We have a target that in 2029 we will be in 58 or the top 50 global cities," said DKI Governor Pramono Anung in the launching of Jakarta City's 498th Anniversary in Blok M South Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, May 24.
Pramono is optimistic that if the government and society can work together, the dream will be realized.
He highlighted that currently Jakarta is ranked 74th out of the 156 best cities in the world.
Therefore, he targets to build Jakarta into a cultured global city, namely introducing Betawi culture to be known throughout the world.
"Betawi is the main culture in Jakarta. So why do we choose the main theme on this birthday to become a global and cultured city of Jakarta," he said.

Jakarta also has more than 2,000 startups and is ranked 21 in the world in the startup ecosystem in 2023.
Furthermore, Jakarta is also recorded to have progressed in the development of mass transportation infrastructure in the last 20 years. Among them is the Integrated Moda Raya (MRT) Jakarta route Lebak Bulus - HI Roundabout for 16 km, then it continues until the City or Ancol station.
There is also the Jakarta Integrated Highway (LRT) with the Velodrome - Kelapa Gading route of 5.8 km, then continued to Manggarai, which is currently still under construction.
In addition, there is Transjakarta which is recorded as the largest rapid transit bus (BRT) system in the world with 3,500 buses, 260 routes, and 1 million passengers per day.
Jakarta also has human resources that can compete at the global level, with the human development index reaching a score of 80.67 in 2022.
