Just Arrived In Bali, Shayne Pattynama Sends A Serious Signal To China

Indonesian National Team Defender Shayne Pattynama has begun to adapt to the hot weather and high humidity in Bali ahead of the training camp (TC) which will take place on May 26, 2025 at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar.

"It's different when playing in Europe, here (Bali) the weather is hot and the humidity is high, so if we practice here we will get used to it," said Shayne in Kuta, Badung, Saturday, May 24.

The naturalized Dutch-born player revealed that weather adaptation is important for preparation ahead of the crucial match against China in the continuation of the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification which will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday 5 June.

Although he has not started the official TC, Shayne still maintains his physical fitness by exercising independently and implementing a balanced diet and rest. He also fills his spare time by relaxing on the Island of the Gods, while waiting for an official training session with his teammates.

"We will practice soon, but for now, it's good to relax first," said the 185 cm high defender.

Shayne also positively welcomed TC's longer schedule than the previous qualifiers. "The last game against Australia, we only have two days. Now we have plenty of time to prepare, so it will be fun," he said.

The player who has Indonesian blood from his father who comes from Semarang and is of Maluku descent hopes that the training camp in Bali will be an important momentum to hone his physical, tactics, and technique with the Garuda squad.

Shayne arrived in Bali on Friday night May 23 and will soon join the official training session. Apart from him, several other names who have been in Bali include Ole Romeny, Marcelino Ferdinand, and Ivar Jenner.

This intensive exercise in Bali is expected to be able to prepare the team optimally to face tough challenges in qualifying events, including an important party against China in Jakarta.
