Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin Donates IDR 11.3 Trillion, But His Wealth Is Even More Fantastic!
Sergey Brin, one of the founders of Google, recently donated Alphabet shares worth around US$700 million (Rp11.3 trillion). This step continues the large philanthropic pattern carried out through the Brin Wojcicki Foundation. Even though it has donated a very large amount, its net worth is estimated to still reach around US$134 billion (Rp2,177 trillion), which keeps it on the list of the 10 richest people in the world.
For those who take part in the technology industry, Sergey Brin's name is certainly familiar. He is one of the brains behind the birth of Google, a company that has formed a modern digital world. His success in building Google led Brin to achieve extraordinary wealth. However, his recent attention was focused on the large donation he made "worth 700 million US dollars in Alphabet shares."
This step is not the first for Brin in major philanthropic affairs. In 2023, he was also recorded to account for around 600 million dollars, and in 2024 he has provided more than 100 million dollars on several occasions. All of these donations are mostly channeled through the Brin Wojcicki Foundation which focuses on supporting Parkinson's research and a number of other social purposes.

Although the details of the recipients of the donation this time are not published, this is common because Brin often contributes to organizations or foundations that are not announced openly. However, documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) confirm that the donation is divided between class A and Alphabet class shares.
Interestingly, despite providing large donations on an ongoing basis, Sergey Brin remains one of the richest people in the world. His net worth of around 134 billion US dollars shows the scale of wealth that can be built in the technology industry and how this wealth can contribute greatly to the welfare of the community through strategic donations.
Brin himself resigned from the position of President of Alphabet in 2019, but he is still active on the board of directors of the company and remains an important figure in the world of technology. Brin's philanthropic activities reflect trends among tech billionaires who take advantage of their financial power to support various social goals while maintaining great economic influence.
