National Education Day May 2, Observer: The Budget For This Post Should Be Increased 5 Times

JAKARTA - National Education Day falls today, May 2. Education observer from the State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau Prof. Alaidin Koto said the education of the nation's children must continue and not be interrupted even in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.

"No one can say for sure when the COVID-19 pandemic will subside, however, we must also not neglect the education of the nation's children," said Alaidin Koto in Pekanbaru, quoted from Antara, Sunday, May 2.

This opinion was conveyed so that it becomes a momentum to arouse enthusiasm for learning in the emergency era of COVID-19.

He said the quality of education and the safety of the nation's children were important and a priority for the government so that various innovations were needed to encourage the transformation of education, one of which was to support a fivefold increase in the budget.

According to him, the Government and all related sectors must not be careless with the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic so that people still get proper and quality education.

"However, it is necessary to maintain and raise the enthusiasm for learning during the COVID-19 emergency," said Alaidin who is also a professor at UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau who is also the Chair of the Riau ICMI.

Meanwhile, the provision of a sustainable internet, he said, is indispensable for all the nation's children in all corners of the archipelago.

"The responsibility of the state must be full for this problem if it does not want to accept the consequences of the loss of one generation (lost generation) which will risk being taken over the" advanced "leadership of this nation by another nation. Don't let that happen," he said.
