Liverpool Ancang-Ancang Boyong Florian Wirtz
Liverpool are said to have made initial contact with Bayer Leverkusen regarding preparing to bring attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz.
The German international is the main target of coach Arne Slot in preparation for the new season and efforts to defend the Premier League title.
BBC Sport reported that Liverpool expressed their intention to buy the 22-year-old when they contacted Leverkusen to buy Jeremie Frimpong.
Formal negotiations still have to be done, but the deal is likely to take place in the near future. Wirtz himself is valued at more than 120 million pounds or IDR 2.6 trillion.
This amount will exceed the UK's record transfer fee of 107 million agreed by Chelsea with Benfica when it bought Enzo Fernandez in 2023.

Liverpool themselves are likely to think twice about such a cost. However, what is certain is that the player is more interested in moving to Anfield than in Bayern Munich uniforms.
Wirtz was previously also on Manchester City's radar. However, City have now withdrawn from the race so they only left Liverpool and Bayern Munich as at the forefront.
Wirtz is part of the Leverkusen squad that raised the Bundesliga Invincible title last season. He was listed as directly involved in 31 goals in 45 appearances during the 2024/2025 season: 16 goals and 15 assists.
Meanwhile, overall Wirtz posted a total of 57 goals and 65 assists in 197 games for Die Werkself since leaving Koln's youth academy. His contract with Leverkusen is still in effect for two more seasons.
