KPK Finds Foreign Exchange -31 Percent Of School Development Projects In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found a deviation of minus 31 percent in school development projects in the Jakarta area.
The findings of the deviation were obtained by the Task Force (Satgas) II Korsup Region II KPK when reviewing the construction of TK Negeri, SD Negeri 01 and 02 Cikini, as well as the New School Unit (USB) SMA in Menteng District, Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 22.
The project is part of six school development packages under the responsibility of the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the DKI Jakarta Education Office. The total budget for all project packages reached Rp262 billion, with a USB development contract value in the Cikini area of Rp61 billion.
Head of Task Force II Korsup Region II KPK, Dwi Aprilia Linda Astuti, emphasized that PPK and the inspectorate need to pay serious attention to these findings so that construction is immediately completed 100 percent.
The KPK encourages the DKI Jakarta Education Office to coordinate intensively with the inspectorate to resolve this problem. Planning for procurement preparations should be carried out carefully, including periodic audits and evaluation of the method of packaging the implementation of activities," said Linda in her statement, Saturday, May 24.
Moreover, the project budget comes from the 2024 fiscal year. The education office has made an addendum so that the project can continue until 2025.
As a result of the delay, the students of SDN 01 and 02 Cikini had to be relocated to SDN 03 and 05 Gondangdia since May 2024. Teaching and learning activities (KBM) also became not optimal because study hours were compacted and students had to alternate with other schools.

We are talking about the right of children to study properly. So this project must be closely monitored and completed for no reason. Every delay, no matter how small, has an impact on their future, "said Linda.
Meanwhile, the KPK is determined to oversee that the development of educational infrastructure runs effectively, efficiently, and free from corrupt practices. This is because the right to learn for Indonesian children must not be sacrificed by negligence and inaccuracy in project management.
