Malaysian Naval Truck Slipped, 6 People Injured

JAKARTA - A series of accidents involving five vehicles including a Malaysian Royal Navy truck (TLDM) occurred near Simpang Tiga, Jalan Teluk Baru, Langkawi, Friday, May 23.

The front commander of the Dirgantara and Maritime International Langkawi Exhibition Operations Room (LIMA25) for the Ministry of Fire and Rescue of Kedah (JBPM), Senior Fire Inspector I Ahmad Aminuddin Abd Rahim, said the injuries in the accident amounted to six people.

"There were 30 victims involved, five men and one woman were injured. One of the victims suffered a neck injury," he said in a statement today, quoted by Bernama.

Rahim explained that his party received a call regarding the incident at 3 pm and immediately headed to the location.

Operation Room LIMA received an emergency call through the ground search and rescue team (SAR), which informed them of a road accident involving five vehicles, namely a TLDM truck and four cars," he said.

Meanwhile, TLDM in a statement said that the three-ton truck carrying personnel from the FIMA 25 Maritime Segment Demonstration was an accident after losing control and slipping when it was about to return after Friday prayers at Al Ehsan Temonyong Mosque, to Resort World Langkawi.
