Rural Areas In Bellingen Isolated By Australian Floods, Roads And Bridges Severely Damaged
JAKARTA - Bellingen is a small town on the Mid North Coast, New South Wales was also affected by Australia's severe floods.
Quoted from the Mirror, Friday, May 23, heavy rains led to flooding over the last few days in the area causing landslides, roads and bridges to be badly damaged.
Bellingen's regional council mayor, Steve Allan, said it was difficult for his party to reach Bellingen residents who were in rural areas because of isolated flood spots.
This isolated access causes the aid to be difficult to distribute.
However, Steve is grateful that rivers are starting to look receding as the rain intensity is not extreme today.
To date, floods in New South Wales have killed four people and one victim missing.
