Investigating Allegations Of Corruption At The Ministry Of Manpower, KPK Confiscates 2 More Cars

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again confiscated three cars after searching three houses related to allegations of corruption in the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). This forced effort was carried out by investigators on Thursday, May 22 yesterday.

"The investigative team searched three houses again and secured two units of four-wheeled vehicles," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, May 23.

Budi said that during the search, eight cars and one motorbike had been confiscated. This forced effort was carried out for three days since Tuesday, May 20.

"A total of eight units of four-wheeled vehicles and one unit of two-wheeled motorized vehicles have been confiscated and all of them are already in the Red and White KPK building," he said.

"This confiscation is of course for the sake of proof as well as an initial effort to optimize asset recovery," continued Budi.

As for the eight cars confiscated, two of them were BMW sedans. One is red with two doors and the other is white.

In addition, there is also a black Mitsubishi Pajero; Wuling Air EV is pink; Honda Brio is red; until the Honda sedan is gray. Then there is also an automatic Vespa motorbike whose specifications are unknown.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). A total of eight suspects, two of them Suhartono and Haryanto as former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK).

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia. This familiar practice was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.
