Cisumdawu Bridge Supporter Km 204 Shifted Due To Land Shiftation

BANDUNG - Sumedang Police, West Java, which conducted a thorough inspection of the Cisumdawu Toll Road for the effect of ground movement that occurred on Saturday (17/5).

Officers reported that one of the significant damage was that the bridge support pole at Km 204 shifted, thus requiring serious repairs.

"At Km 204, Cikadongdong Bridge Block Conggeang, the bridge support pole has shifted which requires repairs within a period of up to one year," said Sumedang Police Chief AKBP Joko Dwi Harsono as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 23.

Joko also conveyed that there was an emergency ground movement situation that occurred on the Km 177 section, precisely in the Bojongtotor Block, Sirnamulya Village, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency.

At that point, he continued, ground movement has resulted in significant damage to toll road infrastructure, including the breakdown of the barrierbeton and the collapse of the road. This causes the closure of the fast lane and the diversion of all vehicles to the slow lane.

"We have coordinated directly with PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT). They confirmed that several points on the toll road were damaged due to ground movement. Currently, security measures and lane diversion have been implemented," said Joko.

Based on the results of the Sumedang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) he received, he explained that at the km 177 point, the landslide crown reached 170 meters long and about 300 meters high, causing the toll road to collapse to 50 cm.

This resulted in about 60 housing units in Bojongtotor Hamlet being also under direct threat.

"We emphasize the importance of fast and proper handling to prevent casualties, both from landslides and traffic accidents. If the ground movement continues, the Cisumdawu Toll Road towards Majalengka will be closed and vehicles will be diverted to Sumedang and Pamulihan Toll Gate," said Joko.

PT CKJT is scheduled to conduct field checks which will be led by the Board of Directors of PT CKJT together with Prof. Paulus as an expert.

"We are coordinating all efforts to ensure that the situation can be controlled and the risk can be minimized," said Joko.
