Polda Metro Investigates GRIB Jaya Case Occupying BMKG Land In South Tangerang

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that members of the United Indonesia People's Movement (GRIB Jaya) community organization were suspected of occupying state-owned land in the Pondok Betung area, South Tangerang. Polda Metro Jaya stated that the report was being investigated.

"We confirm that we have received a police report and the investigation is still ongoing," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, May 23.

In handling the police report made by BMKG dated February 3, 2025, investigators from the Harda Sub-Directorate of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate have examined several witnesses.

Ditreskrimum also received several pieces of evidence related to the alleged land occupation. However, it was not conveyed in detail regarding the amount of evidence and witnesses that had been examined.

Ade ensured that investigators had also carried out the status quo in the land area of 127,780 square meters which was the subject of the problem.

"Then on March 26, 2025, the investigative team has carried out for the umpteenth time checking the crime scene and has carried out status quo activities by installing a sign (written under investigation)," said Ade.

In the report received, there were five reported people. They are suspected to be members of the GRIB Jaya mass organization, namely J, H, AF, K, B, and MY.

The reported parties are suspected of committing a criminal act of entering the yard without permission and/or embezzlement of the rights to immovable objects and/or damage together regulated in articles 167 of the Criminal Code, 385 of the Criminal Code, and 170 of the Criminal Code.
